Google is clearly eager to end the menace of spam mails and this new method has been hard-tested for the past year but will it work?News

Users should prepare for the most significant Gmail update aimed at preventing spam emails.

Gmail users have received one of the most important security updates in years, and they aim to prevent the biggest problem for users. The mail platform wants to minimize the amount of spam that reaches your inbox, and this update promises to work in just that direction. Gmail has worked extensively to improve its spam detection rate, which the company claims is now 38 percent better.

But how does this translate into real-time detection and less spam entering the user’s inbox? Google is developing its detection methods to counter spammers who use invisible characters and keyword stuffing to sometimes circumvent Gmail’s spam detection systems.

Google is now building technology that allows Gmail to read spammers’ minds and pick up on their tricks instead of raising an alert. Google uses RETVec (Resilient & Efficient Text Vectorizer) to filter spam, reducing false detection of such messages.

What’s interesting about RETVec is that Google claims to have extensively tested the technology in harsh conditions over the past year, and the results have given it the confidence to roll it out on a larger scale. Google’s new spam detection technology is compatible across the web, device tracking and other use cases. There are several ways Google wants to end the threat of spam. Google is reportedly rolling out a new unsubscribe button in Gmail’s Android app, making it easier to opt out of spam.

Gmail’s unsubscribe button feature is currently not widely available, and there is no information on its availability on iOS devices. According to reports, an unsubscribe button is located next to the sender information, and tapping it will unsubscribe from future emails.
