Watch Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live at 2PM ET
The annual Gamescom trade fair is commencing today, and even if you’re not in Germany, you can still be part of the excitement. All the exciting announcements and updates will be streamed live, starting with the opening night event hosted by Geoff Keighley, the renowned Game Awards expert and former Spike TV personality. For those unable to attend in person, the event will begin streaming at 2PM ET. You can watch it here.
So what can we expect from the stream? Well, we don’t have to wonder, as Keighley took to Twitter/X and dropped a list of the titles that will be getting the spotlight during the event. Expect trailers or updates for upcoming games like Alan Wake 2, Sonic Superstars, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1 and more. You can also expect information about upcoming DLC content such as Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
Of course, these high-profile gaming conferences are all about generating buzz, so there should be a surprise or two in addition to the titles Keighley mentioned. For example, last year’s opening night showcase released a new trailer and opened pre-orders for Dead Island 2. This title was stuck in development hell for a decade, so no one expected such an info dump at Gamescom.
Gamescom 2023 extends far beyond the opening night. There will be more events and streams during the week, though many will be for people involved in the development side through Devcom’s sister event. Gamescom is the world’s largest game fair in terms of exhibition space and visitor numbers.
