WhatsApp Introduces Feature to Locate and Subscribe to Channels
WhatsApp, a popular messaging app owned by Meta, is widely rolling out a feature that allows you to search, follow channels for everyone, and share broadcast updates with your followers. WhatsApp Channels is a one-way broadcast tool that provides a private way to receive updates from individuals and organizations on WhatsApp.
“Thanks to the official changelog, we’ve just learned that WhatsApp has finally announced the ability to discover and follow channels for the first time in the app’s update notes,” WABetaInfo reported.
According to the report, the official changelog mentions that it is now possible to find and follow channels to get updates on topics important to users directly in the new Updates tab.
The Meta-owned app had previously shared similar announcements, but this is the first time such news has appeared in the update notes. It is worth mentioning that this feature has been available to many users for a month already. However, there were still a limited number of users who did not have access to the channels during the original release.
“Thanks to the latest update available on the App Store, the instant messaging app now widely implements this feature even for those people who couldn’t try it with previous versions of the app,” the report states.
If you don’t have this feature, please wait a while as some accounts may get it in the coming weeks as stated in the official changelog. It is recommended that WhatsApp users should update the app regularly from the App Store and TestFlight to get this feature in the future if you don’t have it after installing this update.
The feature to create channels is available for iOS users who install the latest WhatsApp update from the App Store, WABetaInfo said in a report.
