WhatsApp Rolls Out Custom Link Preview Interface For These Users: Everything You Need To Know
WhatsApp, one of the most popular instant messaging apps around the world, is making changes to its link preview interface in its iOS beta version. Beta testers will now see a new line above the chat bar when a link is entered into the platform.
The row will animate when the link preview is loaded. Previously, users had no indication whether a preview was loading or not, causing confusion and wasted time. Soon, iPhone users will have an improved experience when typing links in the chat bar.
According to WABetaInfo, which tracks WhatsApp, the new interface is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app. It is expected to come to more users in the coming days.
With an improved link preview interface, the Meta-owned platform makes it clear when a preview is loading and when it’s available, so users no longer need to wait unnecessarily for a preview to load if it’s not available, the report states.
The new update also includes general improvements and bug fixes, such as a fix for users who were unable to restore their chat history from iCloud.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also announced new features aimed at group administrators and regular users. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta shared the update via his Instagram channel this week.
WhatsApp said that groups are an integral part of the messaging app and the addition of these new features not only promises to make WhatsApp easier to use, but also convenient for administrators to handle WhatsApp groups.
WhatsApp has confirmed that Groups can now have double the number of existing members. Currently WhatsApp groups support 512 members but now with the messaging app you have 1024 members.
