WhatsApp unlocks the ability to limit polls to just one option: Know more
The popular instant messaging application WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is reportedly releasing an option to limit queries to only one option. It means that users can now only create one poll per group or individual conversation at a time.
“This feature allows users to choose only one option that they like the most. It is useful because it makes the survey results more accurate since users are limited to one choice,” WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo reported.
According to the report, it is useful even in cases where only one answer is required. This is because when users only have to choose one option, they are more likely to take the survey and think more deeply about their choice.
While limiting queries to only one option can limit the queries that can be run, it can also make the feature more useful for certain types of questions, such as yes or no questions or multiple choice questions where only one option is correct.
The feature was also in development for iOS, and after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS update, some beta testers may be able to use this feature. Now it’s also coming to Android.
The goal of this change may be to reduce spam and improve the user experience on the platform. When this restriction is in place, users must carefully consider the poll they wish to create and ensure that it is relevant and useful for a group or individual discussion.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has reportedly launched an official chat where users can get the latest information about the app, including updates and tips on how to use it. The chat is marked with a green mark, which allows users to verify that the account is genuine.
