WhatsApp unlocks the ability to share up to 100 media in conversations

After recently announcing a bunch of new features for its status update, meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to share up to 100 pieces of media in your chats to some beta testers.

“With the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.4.3 update, some beta testers can now share up to 100 media,” WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo reports.

You can check if the extended media sharing feature is enabled on your WhatsApp account when you try to select more than 30 media from the app’s media selector. If the feature is available, you can finally share up to 100 media otherwise, you have to wait for the upcoming app update.

This feature is really useful because users can finally share entire albums, making it easier to share memories and moments with friends and family. Additionally, the new limit helps prevent users from selecting the same image or video more than once if they need to upload a lot of media files.

The ability to share up to 100 pieces of media in your conversations is available to some beta testers and will roll out to more people in the coming days.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has added a bunch of new features that it claims can improve the WhatsApp Status experience. Status is like Stories on Reels and Snapchat that disappears in 24 hours and you can have a video, photo or even text to show other people in your WhatsApp contact list.

It’s even end-to-end secured, meaning you can share space safely. But the messaging app continues to bring new features to the alternative, and the company has officially confirmed five of them this week.

Last week it was reported that the messaging platform was introducing longer group topics and descriptions in the Android beta version.

While the group topic characters have been increased from 25 to 100 to give group admins more freedom in naming their groups, the group description has increased from 512 characters to 2048 characters.
