WhatsApp Unveils 5 Upgrades – Revamped Look, Multiple Profiles & More
Owned by Meta, WhatsApp is one of the most widely used instant messaging apps in India and globally. One of the main reasons for its popularity is its constant effort to introduce new features and security updates, making the platform more user-friendly.
In fact, just last month, WhatsApp rolled out five new features (mostly for beta users). These include the ability to use multiple accounts on the same device and a new user interface designed for iOS users. Here’s a list of all the newly released new features for the Meta-owned app.
– The instant messaging app has tested the ability to use multiple accounts on the same device, preventing you from using two phones to use the messaging app. And now the feature has been rolled out for Android users.
“We’re introducing the ability to be logged in to two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. Useful for switching accounts – like work and personal – now you don’t have to log out every time, carry two phones or worry about sending messages from the wrong place,” WhatsApp said.
– WhatsApp recently introduced a new feature that allows iOS users to send photos and videos as documents to preserve their original quality. The feature is already available for Android devices, but now it’s coming to iOS as well. The instant messaging app also said it’s possible to share documents up to 2GB in size.
– The Meta-owned app has released a new privacy feature that protects the IP address in calls. A new Advanced Settings section has been introduced in the WhatsApp Privacy Settings screen. This section includes a new “protect IP address on calls” option that ensures a more secure experience during voice and video calls.
– WhatsApp has introduced a redesigned user interface with new colors and icons. However, it is currently available to a limited number of users (iOS). The new user interface includes a new green color as the main tone color of the application.
– WhatsApp users can now pin messages to chats and groups. The new Pinned Message feature is available in the contextual message menu and allows users to pin a selected message to the beginning of their conversation, simplifying the highlighting of important or frequently referenced messages.
