Xbox Unveils Limited Edition Controllers with Pizza Aroma
To commemorate the launch of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem film, Xbox is introducing a collection of exclusive controllers that possess the aroma of pizza. Although this may appear peculiar, the wireless controllers, compatible with Xbox Series X/S and PC, are designed with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme.
Gamers have seen numerous limited edition controllers from both Xbox and PlayStation in the past, but this is the first time a controller has included an element of smell instead of just offering different build materials and color themes.
Xbox has announced that the controller will be available in four variants, each representing the signature colors, weapons and personality of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo. To spread the smell of pizza, the controllers have built-in aroma diffusers shaped like a slice of New York-style pizza.
However, there are only a limited number of controllers available, and they’re only available as an Xbox gift – meaning you can’t buy them. To enter the sweepstakes, fans can enter by following the Xbox Game Pass account on Twitter and retweeting the official Xbox Game Pass sweepstakes tweet. Xbox says that the raffle for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed wizard will take place from July 24 to August 13, 2023.
Xbox suggests that playing the latest game in the series – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which is available on both PC GamePass and Xbox GamePass – would be the perfect way to use the new limited edition controllers. However, these controllers are basically standard Xbox wireless controllers without the limited edition graphics and pizza smell, and they work like any other Xbox controller.
Xbox has released several limited edition controllers in the past, such as the Forza Horizon controller, and is coming up with Starfield special edition controllers. Its rival PlayStation has also recently released a special edition controller to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy XVI and will also release a controller themed around Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
