Yaccarino Predicts X Platform Will Be Profitable By 2024 With Return of Ads
The head of X Corp has confirmed that X, formerly Twitter, will turn profitable by next year. X CEO Linda Yaccarino has assured that the company will be profitable by early 2024, adding that the platform could now have 200-250 million daily active users.
Speaking at the Code conference late Wednesday, he said that because I’m now immersed in the business, “we have a good eye for what’s predictable” and “what’s coming is that in early 2024 it looks like it’s going to be profitable.”
Yaccarino said that “90 percent of the top 100 advertisers have returned to the platform in the last 12 weeks alone.” About 1,500 advertisers have returned to the platform, he said.
X (formerly Twitter) has yet to report an annual profit in 13 years and has struggled to maintain profitability. However, he did not confirm whether the company plans to charge all X users, as its billionaire owner Elon Musk has suggested.
Yaccarino also denied a report that X was disbanding its election integrity team.
He said that X is expanding its work to combat platform manipulation and disinformation in general, reports The Verge.
“It’s something we take very seriously. And contrary to the comments made, X has a robust and growing team wrapped up in election integrity,” Twitter’s CEO told the crowd.
X Corp also plans to introduce voice and video calling for premium subscription users. In August, Yaccarino claimed that X is on the verge of breaking even after going through a huge turnover in the past few months, including huge layoffs and multiple platform changes.
