Twitter Launches X Hiring Beta to Enable Companies to Post Job Listings
X (formerly Twitter) has made progress in its goal of becoming an all-encompassing app by introducing a new feature called X Hiring (Beta) for verified organizations. This feature allows these organizations to post job listings and connect with potential candidates. This development puts X in direct competition with LinkedIn and other similar apps in the same field. Previously, companies on X could engage with their followers, but now they have the chance to find the perfect candidate from a wide range of options.
X’s official account announced the feature, saying, “Open early access to X Hiring Beta – exclusively for verified organizations. Showcase your key roles and organically reach millions of relevant candidates. Apply for Beta today.” It also added a URL to apply for beta access. You can find it here.
X introduces the job postings feature
Currently, the range of features offered is not clear. We know this feature allows companies to post about roles they want to hire, but they could already do that with a simple tweet and pinning it. We don’t know if the feature will allow candidates to apply on the platform itself and show companies how relevant a candidate is likely to be. LinkedIn offers these features because the entire platform is geared toward networking and job hunting, and the individual profiles show that. Twitter has none of these features.
Another thing to note is that the feature is only offered to certified organizations with a yellow check mark. Organization verification costs $1,000 per month as a subscription fee, plus $50 per month for each affiliated sub-account. And for all that money, organizations didn’t really get any special features until X Hiring. So for those accounts that have already decided not to sign up for a Premium subscription, is the hiring option enough, especially since LinkedIn Premium for Recruiters only charges $49.95? Only time will tell.
