YouTube Music’s Now Playing Tab Incorporates YouTube Comments to the Detriment of Listeners
The recent update of YouTube Music’s Now Playing page is now available for both iOS and Android devices. A notable addition to the app is a new feature that enhances its social aspect. Users can now read and post comments directly on the Now Playing page, expanding beyond the previous limitation to playlists only.

The updated design is rolling out gradually, so you may not see it right away, but other changes are coming. The cover art is larger, and the song titles and artist names now hug the left side of the screen. Another important thing to note is that there is now a carousel with comment buttons, thumbs up or thumbs down for songs, save songs to playlist, share, download and radio. Most of the previously available functions required an extra tap to get this far. The buttons look very similar to the ones you see below the YouTube video player. Additionally, several controls should be easier to access since they are at the bottom of the screen.
