Here’s what Adobe’s CEO said about a bunch of layoff plans
Software major Adobe has said it has no plans to implement company-wide layoffs.
Unlike other Silicon Valley tech giants, Adobe won’t be making mass layoffs this year, says its human resources director Gloria Chen.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television, he said that “We are committed to not having company-wide layoffs.”
“We’re actually committed to continuing to grow here,” Chen said as Adobe opened its fourth office in San Jose, Calif., with capacity for 3,000 employees.
In December, Adobe laid off around 100 employees from its sales team amid the difficult global macroeconomic situation.
Adobe said the company “relocated some employees to positions that support critical initiatives” and eliminated “a small number” of other jobs.
“Adobe is not making company-wide layoffs and we continue to hire for critical roles,” the software chief said in a statement.
Adobe will publish its first quarter results on March 15.
In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022, the company achieved a turnover of 4.53 billion dollars, which is 10 percent compared to the previous year.
Adobe’s revenue was $17.61 billion in fiscal 2022, a 12 percent year-over-year increase.
“Adobe achieved record revenue and operating profit in fiscal year 2022,” said Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s chairman. “Our market opportunity, unparalleled innovation, operational discipline and exceptional talent position us well for the next decade of growth.”
