Unlock the Secrets of WhatsApp Privacy: Get the Inside Scoop!

WhatsApp, the widely used messaging platform owned by Meta, has been consistently striving to not only introduce innovative and user-friendly features but also improve the privacy of its users. In its latest update, it has introduced a feature called ‘Protect IP Address in Calls’ that conceals users’ IP addresses during calls, thereby enhancing privacy and security. Alongside this, WhatsApp also offers a comprehensive privacy feature that serves as a centralized hub for all your privacy preferences. Learn more about it.

What is WhatsApp Privacy Checker?

According to the meta blog post, “This step-by-step feature walks you through important privacy settings so you can choose the right level of protection, all in one place. When you select Start Scan from Privacy Settings, you’ll be taken through multiple layers of privacy that strengthen the security of your messages, calls, and personal information.

The WhatsApp privacy check has four privacy settings.

1. Choose who can contact you

In this setting, users can choose who can contact them via messages or voice/video calls on WhatsApp and block unwanted callers. There are also options to mute unknown callers who can add you to groups, as well as blocked contacts.

2. Manage your personal information

WhatsApp users can choose the audience they want to show their online status and activities. They can also choose to show their profile picture, status, and last seen, and turn read receipts on and off.

3. Add privacy to your conversations

This option allows users to restrict access to messages and media by managing end-to-end encrypted backups and message timer.

4. Add protection to your account

Users can add an extra layer of security to their WhatsApp accounts by enabling two-step verification and fingerprint lock in this setting.

How do you access the privacy check?

1. To access the WhatsApp Privacy Checker, go to WhatsApp Settings and then Privacy.
