Remember the BlackBerry era with this iPhone case priced at Rs 12,000.
BlackBerry phones were very popular back in the day due to their BBM transmitter and physical QWERTY keyboard. However, BlackBerry phones have since been replaced by Android phones and iPhones, and now it’s hard to find a mainstream device with a physical keyboard. However, a new iPhone accessory may be able to change that, turning the iPhone into a BlackBerry-like phone.
Yes, that’s right. Clicks Technology has designed a protective case for the iPhone with a built-in physical keyboard that takes you back to the days of the classic BlackBerry. Called Clicks, the case is available for $139 (roughly Rs. 11,500) for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro models, while it costs $159 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Clicks is available in two colors: BumbleBee (yellow) and London Sky (grey).
How does it work?
You might be wondering how an iPhone case can allow you to use a physical keyboard. For starters, it has a USB-C or Lightning port that plugs into your iPhone for charging while it’s in the case; and it also has flow-through charging.
You have to slide the phone in until it’s aligned with the USB-C or Lightning port — and that means there’s a physical connection. it does not use Bluetooth to connect.
In terms of how it works, the case allows you to use the full screen of your phone without the keyboard covering up apps like the iOS virtual keyboard does. This means you see more of what’s on your screen. Additionally, you can use the keyboard to launch iOS shortcuts, such as launching Spotlight and returning to the Home screen. The case also has a backlight on the keyboard, so you can use it in the dark. However, the case makes your phone look taller and bigger, so you’ll have to deal with that if you want the benefits of a physical keyboard.
