WhatsApp Channels to Receive New Features: Polls and Voice Note Sharing
Earlier this week, the WhatsApp beta for iOS added the ability to include polls in WhatsApp channels. Now the popular chat app owned by Meta has finally announced that it will release a stable version of this feature to everyone.
In addition to polls, Channels – a one-way broadcast tool – also gets the ability to send voice notes and make up to 16 people admins. In addition, users can now even share a channel update as a status.
“We’re announcing a bunch of new features for WA channels, including voice notes, multiple admins, and sharing to status and polls, which is great because I need help solving a conversation,” Mark Zuckerberg said in the post.
Adding a voice memo feature to channels allows content creators to better communicate and connect with members in a more personal way. This is especially useful for content creators who like to share their thoughts and ideas frequently.
Polls are another great way for content creators to connect with their members. Surveys can be used to measure interest in a certain topic, collect feedback on a new idea, or simply get to know your members better. Polls can also be used to promote conversation within the channel.
In addition, the ability to quickly share channel updates as a user status is a great way to promote channels and attract new members. When a user shares a channel update to their status, it will appear on their profile for all their friends to see.
And when it comes to quality of life updates for channel owners, the ability to designate up to 16 people as admins is a big improvement. This gives channels more manpower to manage the channel and share updates quickly. This is especially useful in larger channels where it can be difficult for one person to manage everything.
However, these updates bring much-needed stability to the Channels feature and make it a more versatile addition to the overall WhatsApp experience.
