Benchmarks Reveal Alleged Spotting of Google Pixel 9 with Tensor G4 and Its Score
A new Google smartphone, codenamed “Tokay”, has been spotted on the Geekbench 5 benchmark database, according to a recent report by MySmartPrice.
That device, allegedly the upcoming Pixel 9, will feature a new chipset, possibly the Tensor G4, Google’s fourth-generation chipset. It is said to have achieved 1082 points in the single-point comparison and 3121 points in the multi-point comparison. However, the report notes that these scores are slightly lower than the current flagships, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which is quite surprising.
The benchmarks also provide additional insight, revealing that the chipset is an octa-core processor. The main core works at 3.10 GHz, three cores at 2.60 GHz and four cores at 1.95 GHz. In addition, the device has a Mali G715 GPU and 8 GB of RAM.
Without concrete details, predicting the ultimate performance of the upcoming Tensor G4 remains challenging. More information is expected in the coming months. Traditionally, Google reveals the first details about its upcoming Pixel phones at the Google I/O event. However, it is uncertain whether this will happen this year.
In related news, Google is also said to be working on the Pixel 8a and the next-generation Pixel Fold. The Pixel Fold is also said to feature the Tensor G4 chipset and may bypass the Tensor G3 chipset altogether when it launches later this year. The new foldable may have a narrower cover screen compared to the current Pixel Fold, and the overall aspect ratio of the inner screen may resemble a square similar to the OnePlus Open.
