WhatsApp Launches New Attachment Option for iPhone Users
According to reports, Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is introducing a new chat attachment feature. This feature will allow users to explore an alternative method of sharing media with their chats and groups.
“We announced that WhatsApp is working on a new feature in development: a redesigned chat attachment menu. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta iOS 23.12.0.71 update, the feature is now available to some beta testers,” WABetaInfo reported.
According to a screenshot shared by WhatsApp, the Meta-owned app improved the chat attachment menu by revamping both light and dark themes. In previous updates, WhatsApp for iOS presented the chat attachment menu as a vertical list with an alert widget.
With this new feature, users can experience a new approach to choosing what to share, especially since the old screen was very outdated since the first versions of WhatsApp. You can check if the feature is enabled on your WhatsApp account by opening any chat and tapping the media attachment button.
According to the report, this redesign was very necessary because the application is constantly evolving, and there are many new possibilities for sharing different types of multimedia files in the future.
Placing all these hotkeys on a horizontal line instead of using the alert controller saves us time choosing the right hotkey because the view remains clear and easy to use, WABetaInfo reports.
According to the report, the new chat attachment feature is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and will roll out to even more people in the coming days. The Meta-owned app is also rolling out an improved interface for promoting WhatsApp Business status updates.
