WhatsApp To Enable Group Video Calls Of Up To 32 People On Windows, Mac
According to reports, WhatsApp, the instant messaging app owned by Meta, is introducing a new feature that allows Windows users to make video calls with a maximum of 32 individuals. This update promises faster speeds and enhanced calling quality.
“We explained that the app supports group video calls of up to 8 people and voice calls of up to 32 people, and that WhatsApp could increase these limits in the future to make it easier for users to experience better communication. Finally, with the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2324.1.0 update available from the Microsoft Store , some beta testers may try larger video calls,” WABetainfo reported.
According to a screenshot shared by WABetainfo, some beta testers may be prompted to send a message telling them to try calling their groups. In particular, the post mentions the ability to video call contacts and groups, up to 32 people, directly from the Windows app. Previously, the option to make voice calls to up to 32 people was available. However, with the latest update, it seems that some users can now also explore video calls with up to 32 people.
The report suggests that some people might get a different message with the mention of 16-person video calling support and the ability to share their screens during a video call, which was previously announced with the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2322.1.0 update. Also, some beta testers can finally see video messages after installing the app’s latest update.
After the previous WhatsApp Desktop app became obsolete, enabling up to 32 people to participate in video calls seems like a great decision, WABetainfo said.
Some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows update from the Microsoft Store can now make video calls with up to 32 people. If you haven’t received this update yet, don’t worry as it will be rolled out to more users gradually over the next few days.
