WhatsApp Launches Animated Avatar Feature For Android Users

According to reports, WhatsApp, a highly popular instant messaging app, is said to be launching an upgraded avatar pack that includes animated avatars.

“With this feature, WhatsApp offers users an animated version of their current avatar package. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.12 update from the Google Play Store, some beta testers can finally try animated avatars,” WABetaInfo, which follows WhatsApp, reported.

According to the report, an improved version of the avatar pack that introduces animated avatars is finally available. This is definitely a significant improvement that brings a dynamic element to avatars, especially for those users who use this feature regularly, as it brings a better expression experience.

You can check if animated avatars are enabled on your WhatsApp account by opening the avatar tab in the chat. If some avatars have animations, it means that the feature is available to you. Recipients do not need to have the feature enabled to see the animated avatars you send them. So you can share your animated avatars with non-beta testers as well.

According to WABetaIndo, the animated avatars are available to some beta testers who install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and will be available to even more people in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp is also rolling out a feature that lets you add participants to new groups right in the group chat. This feature works as a shortcut, so users don’t need to open the group’s information to add a new member.

A new banner may appear in group chats inviting people to add new participants to the group. In the group chat, it is possible to quickly select new people to join the group, as long as the group’s access rights allow it.
