WhatsApp Introduces ‘Community Examples’ Feature in Latest iOS Beta Release
Meta-owned instant messaging platform, Whatsapp, is reportedly rolling out a fresh feature called “Community examples” on its iOS beta version. The purpose of this feature is to assist beta users in establishing communities on WhatsApp by providing instructional examples.
Guiding users with step-by-step instructions
When users use the “community examples” feature, they are directed to the official FAQ, which contains detailed instructions and practical tips for creating a community. This includes adding groups to communities and effectively engaging community members through specialized notice groups.
The primary goal of this feature is to motivate more users to create their own communities on the WhatsApp platform. By providing clear guidance, WhatsApp hopes to increase its users’ sense of community and connection.
Initially, the “community examples” feature will only be available to a select group of beta testers. These testers can update the WhatsApp beta for iOS via the TestFlight app to access the feature. The implementation will gradually expand to a wider user base in the coming days.
Animated avatars
In addition to the new community-focused feature, WhatsApp has also brought animated avatars to its iOS beta version. These dynamic avatars can be shared with anyone, regardless of whether they are using the beta version. The goal is to improve communication by adding personality and vitality to the labels.
Video Sharing Feature
Another recent addition to WhatsApp’s iOS beta is the ability to send high-quality videos. Although some compression is still used to preserve video dimensions, this update allows users to send videos with higher quality. The default setting is still “Standard Quality”, but users can manually select a high quality option when sharing videos.
These ongoing updates and additions highlight WhatsApp’s commitment to improving the user experience and expanding the feature offering on the beta platform. The company strives to provide innovative tools that make communication and interaction more enjoyable and efficient.
Scheduling group calls easily
Earlier this week, Whatsapp introduced the scheduling feature in the latest beta version of its Android app (v2.23.17.7), as reported by WABetaInfo. This feature allows users to schedule both audio and video group calls, making it easier to plan and coordinate group conversations. The feature also adds the message to the chat thread, allowing participants to join the call seamlessly.
As WhatsApp continues to innovate and improve its features, users can expect a more engaging and convenient messaging experience.
