Amazon Pays Creators $25 for Videos Shared on Inspire Shopping Feed, Sparking Criticism

As companies like X (formerly Twitter) and Meta start paying creators on their platforms, Amazon is now offering influencers $25 per video for a TikTok-style “Inspire” shopping feed.

However, some authors scoff at Amazon’s low fees.

The e-commerce giant is offering $12,500 for up to 500 videos, or $25 per eligible video, according to an email the company distributed to select influencers.

A screenshot of an email shared online said Amazon is looking for videos that “could be a product review of two or more products, a product comparison video, a rating video listing the best products in a category, or even gift inspiration that includes multiple Products.”

Amazon had yet to issue an official statement on the payment news.

Some content creators took to social media platforms to mock the low fee.

“$25 per job lol Amazon can find someone else to play that game,” one creator posted on X. “500 videos! Damn that’s a full time job haha,” said another.

Kyndhal, an Amazon influencer and mentor, wrote, “Amazon is offering creators up to $12,500 to upload shopping videos! If you didn’t get the last incentive, now’s your time!”

One follower replied: “SOOOOO even $25/video LOL no thanks”.

Amazon launched the “Inspire” feed in December of last year. It is an in-app shopping feed that provides personalized suggestions to help users shop on the e-commerce platform.

The Amazon feed essentially looks like the feed provided by TikTok and Instagram Reels, where users receive short videos based on their interests.
