AI-powered voice and other features revolutionize virtual meetings in Microsoft Windows 11

Microsoft has introduced a groundbreaking feature in its newest Canary test build for Windows 11, aiming to revolutionize virtual meetings. The Voice Clarity feature, previously limited to Surface devices, will now improve audio quality on all Windows machines, including those with ARM CPUs.

According to a recent blog post by Microsoft, the Windows 11 Voice Clarity feature uses “low-complexity artificial intelligence models” to dynamically filter out background noise, echo, and echo in real time. This development is ready to meet the eternal challenges faced during video conferences on platforms like Zoom or Teams, where the clarity of communication often suffers due to environmental disturbances.

Imagine a situation where distant voices and echoes compromise performances, or where your own words are lost amid the cacophony of other participants’ microphones. Voice Clarity aims to alleviate these problems, making virtual meetings more engaging and productive.

The feature is not only limited to virtual meetings but also extends its usefulness to PC games. Users can take advantage of Voice Clarity for voice chat during gaming sessions, using artificial intelligence to suppress unwanted background noise and improve communication clarity.

Windows 11: More than just audio improvements

In addition to sound improvements, the test version of Canary includes several other significant features. Instant access to photos and screenshots from connected Android devices is now seamlessly integrated. Microsoft has also revamped the Windows installation process, making it “much cleaner and more modern.” Additionally, the update brings support for USB4 at a remarkable 80 Gbps, a significant improvement over the previous 40 Gbps, ushering in the next era of high-performance displays, storage and connectivity.

Among numerous improvements, Microsoft has not neglected the aspect of accessibility. The Narrator feature now offers an enriched image consumption experience with two major changes. A new keyboard command makes it easier to navigate between images/graphics on the screen or page by using the “G” or “Shift + G” keys in scan mode (multiplier + space). In addition, image text recognition, including handwriting, has been improved and image descriptions have been improved. Users can view these improvements by navigating to the image and pressing the Narrator key + CTRL + D key combination if they have an active Internet connection and the necessary settings are enabled in the Narrator settings.

Microsoft’s relentless pursuit of innovation continues to shape the digital landscape, ensuring that Windows 11 remains at the forefront of user experience and technological advancements.
