“Console” Games Now Available on Netflix – Get Ready to Play!
Streaming giant Netflix has been allowing its subscribers to play games on the platform for some time along with subscriptions for iOS and Android users, and over the years the streaming giant has become more and more serious about gaming – now offering around 90 games. The company recently announced that Hades, named Game of the Year for 2020 by several publications, will make its debut on the service.
Notably, this is the first time Hades is available on mobile devices. However, the game is currently only available to iOS users as Android users do not have access to it.
Developed by SuperGiant Games, Hades is a roguelike that requires players to start over every time they die. In the game, players take on the role of Zagreus, the son of Hades, as they venture into the underworld to reach Mount Olympus. The characters are based on Greek mythology, and as you progress through the levels and die, the rooms repopulate, providing a fresh experience every time you play. Only after unlocking certain permanent upgrades and experiences can you quit the game in one go. Hades is coming to Netflix in 2024.
In addition, Netflix plans to add other games, such as Death’s Door, a multiplayer game coming to mobile devices where players take on the role of a crow who travels through different dungeons to collect souls for the Reaping Commission headquarters. Another indie classic, Braid, originally released for Xbox 360 in 2008, is also available on Netflix. In Braid, players control Tim, who can manipulate the flow of time to solve puzzles and rescue a kidnapped princess.
