Court Documents Suggest PlayStation 6 and Next-Gen Xbox to Launch in 2028

In a lawsuit over Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard in a US court, the tech giant said it expects the next generation of game consoles to be officially released in 2028. This prediction indicates that successors to the current generation, including the PS5 and Xbox X and S, could potentially arrive every eight years.
Information about future consoles was revealed in documents that discussed Sony’s ten-year commitment to release Call of Duty games exclusively for Playstation consoles. IGN’s report highlighted that this commitment extends beyond the expected launch date of the next generation of consoles in 2028, further strengthening the likelihood of new consoles.
