Elon Musk Promises Lucrative Earnings for Verified Twitter Accounts – With a Price Tag

In recent times, Twitter has been actively promoting its subscription plan called Twitter Blue. Today, the Twitter Support page announced that only verified accounts will have the privilege of sending unlimited direct messages (DMs), while unverified accounts will be subject to a daily limit. Following the removal of DM privileges, Elon Musk, the platform’s owner, has made a promise of significant earning prospects for those who purchase the subscription. He went as far as stating that verified accounts will have the opportunity to earn thousands of dollars.

Musk shared a tweet on Saturday highlighting the proposal. He said, “Many accounts on this platform can earn thousands of dollars a month in ad revenue sharing if they become verified subscribers.” Sharing the details of the Twitter Blue plan, he added: “It takes 2 minutes to become a verified subscriber for $7/month (annual plan).”

Elon Musk has also shared another incentive to join the ranks of verified users by offering yet another way to earn through Twitter. In a later tweet, he said: “You’ll also soon be paid for ads that appear when others view your profile page, roughly doubling your payouts.”

Twitter has been in a bit of a tailspin lately, as Musk himself revealed that “We are still cash flow negative, due to ~50% decline in advertising revenue and a heavy debt load.” The problem the company is currently facing is that subscriptions to Twitter Blue haven’t really reached the heights Musk originally believed, while advertisers have consistently dropped out due to a lack of revenue.

Recently, some Twitter users have come out and announced that the platform has started paying them for the content they share. This new policy seems to be an additional premium on top of that.

One user reacted to the news and said: “Yes, I made good money on Twitter for the first time because of you. Thank you Elon for that.”

Another highlighted the lengthy review process, tweeting: “I really appreciate this kind of income for my family. But it’s frustrating that I’ve been ‘under review’ for so long because I meet all the requirements.

Another user humorously highlighted the underrated benefit of subscribing to Twitter Blue, saying, “Not only can you earn money, but you can use your blue checkmark publicly.”
