Expectations for the launch of the new 2024 iPad Air and Pro models are high.
Apple will be very busy in the coming months, preparing for the big WWDC 2024 keynote and sessions in June. However, the company is also expected to announce a new iPad collection, which includes the new Air and Pro models intended for the market. The company is unlikely to hold an event for these products as well, but it is likely that Apple will launch several additional devices alongside the new iPads.
So what can we expect from the new iPads, what do they offer compared to previous models, and will people be tempted to buy or upgrade their old devices? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming release.
Apple iPad Air and Pro 2024 models to be announced: Everything we know
From what we’ve heard, the new iPad Air and Pro models could get a design update that’s long overdue. Apple wants to offer the M2 chipset for the iPad Air, which is likely to be offered in 10.9-inch and even 12.9-inch versions, the first in the Air tablet lineup. It’s interesting to see the company justify bringing the Air to this size, which more or less puts it in the Mac/laptop category.
The new iPad looks similar to the current model, but is larger. It may have the same button placements, Touch ID sensor at the top of the iPad. However, the camera module has been slightly redesigned, with a bezel around the lens – reminiscent of recent iPhone models.
As for the iPad Pro model, we expect Apple to mess with the M3 chip, which has an OLED screen and changes to its design, which will inevitably put a price burden on the lineup.
The two iPad models could be alongside a new version of the Apple Pencil and a new-look Magic Keyboard, which seems to build on the functionality of the 12.9-inch iPad models and combine them with iPadOS for best results. Apple’s iPad lineup has gotten complicated lately, and hopefully these new products will help consumers choose the right one for their needs.
