Google uses generative artificial intelligence in advertising: Report
Alphabet Inc’s Google plans to bring generative artificial intelligence to its advertising business in the coming months to create “new” ads, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing an internal presentation.
Generative AI is a type of technology that relies on past data instead of recognizing content.
Last month, Google started the public release of chatbot Bard. He sought out users and feedback to position Microsoft Corporation as a contender for the market leader in artificial intelligence technology.
Under the proposal, advertisers can provide “creative” content such as images, videos and text related to a specific ad campaign, and AI will mix that material to create ads based on target audience and sales goals, the report said. .
While there have been concerns about AI’s wider impact on issues such as disinformation, phishing and cybercrime, Google plans to take guardrails to address them as it rolls out new generative AI capabilities, the FT reports.
Google did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
