Instagram to Enable Commenting on ‘Stories’
Instagram, the popular photo and video sharing app, is developing a new feature for its platform. The Meta-owned platform will soon allow creators to share fan comments on their stories. These can be comments on their posts or reels.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said on a special channel that they want to help content creators present interesting comments. “We’re trying something. People with public accounts can comment on their stories from any post or video. The idea is to help creators point to important or great comments from other creators or fans,” Mosseri said.
Creators participating in this test can highlight a comment by swiping it and tapping the “Add to Story” icon. In the Stories feed, the comment appears next to the original message. However, Adam Mosseri did not say when everyone will get this feature or how many people will try it.
At the same time, Instagram also aims to create voice notes to share with your friends. Mosseri previously said on his broadcast channel, “We haven’t started testing anything publicly yet, but we’re working on creating voice notes to share with your friends.”
Meta first introduced “Notes” on Instagram in December of last year, helping users share their thoughts and see what their friends are up to. When Meta introduced Notes, it had said that the feature would allow users to create short messages of up to 60 characters using only text and emoticons.
Instagram recently launched a new group mention feature that allows users to tag more than one person in a story with a single mention. This feature is useful because tagging multiple people with a single mention makes stories clearer and less cluttered, providing a better viewing experience for followers.
Earlier this month, the platform had launched a feature to better protect users from unwanted DM requests.
