Meta AI now available in Hindi for WhatsApp and Instagram users, chatbot now supports 7 additional languages.
Meta AI is now accessible in seven additional languages, including Hindi and Hinglish. The announcement of Hindi language support comes a month after Meta introduced its AI Chatbot in India. India, with its vast user base on platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Threads, is Meta’s largest market.
Meta AI now available in these languages
Meta AI users on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook can now interact in French, Hindi, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese as well as Hindi romanized. Meta aims to increase language support in the future. The move puts Meta in a strong position against rivals in the AI chatbot race, which includes Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Copilot.
Launched in September 2023, Meta AI is Meta’s project in the Generative AI space. The chatbot is available in 22 countries, including Chile, Argentina, Cambodia, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico and Cameroon.
Meta AI releases new editing tools
Meta is launching new creative tools that allow users to create their own AI-generated images of any location, style or era. For example, users can upload a selfie with the prompt “Imagine me in India’s retro era” and generate AI images.
In addition, Meta plans to introduce a feature that will allow users to create photos, comments, stories and messages in feeds on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp this week. These new editing tools allow users to easily add or remove objects in the image, edit and change them. Users can also fine-tune AI-generated images.
For example, after creating an image of a dog snorkeling in a goldfish bowl, the AI allows the user to create a new image that replaces the dog with a cat in the same scenario by prompting “Change dog to cat.”
Meta AI provides AI features for free
Meta aims to make Meta AI the world’s best and most accessible generative AI chatbot. Meta, which spends billions on AI development, plans to soon introduce more free editing and AI features.
“Meta AI is on track to reach our goal of becoming the most used AI assistant by the end of this year. Hundreds of millions of people are already using it, and we’re making it smarter and freely available in more countries,” Meta chief Mark Zukerberg said in a recent video shared on Instagram.
