Microsoft integrates the AI behind ChatGPT into several developer tools
Microsoft Corp on Monday bundled the technology behind ChatGPT into Power Platform, which allows users to develop apps with little or no coding, the latest integration of artificial intelligence into its products.
Big tech companies from Alphabet Inc to Baidu Inc are accelerating the integration of generative artificial intelligence, a technology that has gained popularity for its ability to generate human-like text responses to queries, into their offerings.
Microsoft said Power Platform’s business intelligence and application development tools, including Power Virtual Agent and AI Builder, were updated with new features.
Power Virtual Agent, an enterprise tool for building chatbots, can now connect to internal company resources and generate summaries of weekly reports and customer surveys.
Microsoft has also added creative AI capabilities to AI Builder, which helps businesses automate workflows, and released a new version of its technology-based Dynamics 365 business management platform.
Dynamics 365 Copilot, the latest version of Microsoft’s tool that includes several sales, customer service and marketing applications, integrates artificial intelligence to automate certain tasks, such as gathering and analyzing data or creating an email campaign, among other features.
Microsoft also said Monday that CEO Satya Nadella will host an event on March 16 to discuss “reinventing productivity with artificial intelligence.”
The company has so far announced AI updates to its popular Windows operating system and search engine Bing, but not yet to its Office productivity suite, which includes Word and Excel.
