Meta, with the Threads app, is carrying over users' verification status from Instagram. So, if you have already paid for Meta Verified, or if you are a legacy verified user, you don't need to apply for verification on Threads.News

No Need To Apply For Verification On Threads If You’re Already Verified On Instagram

Meta has taken it a step further on Threads by allowing users to effortlessly transfer their bio, username, and even opt to follow all the accounts they follow on Instagram. Additionally, Meta has extended this feature by carrying over users’ verification status from Instagram to Threads.

The Meta’s Threads app has only been publicly available for a few hours, but it’s already creating a lot of buzz. While recent Twitter controversies may have prompted some users to look for a Twitter alternative, the main reason for Threads’ popularity is likely its integration with Instagram.

Simply put, this means that users who are old verified or have subscribed to Meta Verified do not need to re-apply for verification in Threads. This makes life a little easier and encourages people to switch from Twitter to Threads.

As is clear, Twitter offers a paid verification subscription called Twitter Blue. However, under Musk’s ownership, the company has decided to remove all old verified checkmarks, forcing people to pay Rs 900/month on Android and iOS devices or Rs 650/month online for Twitter Blue.

Instagram, on the other hand, has decided to keep the old checkmarks for its users despite launching its own pay-to-get-verified subscription service called Meta Verified. This is likely to make Threads, Instagram’s new app, a big draw for celebrities and influencers.

Popular figures such as Lewis Hamilton have already amassed a significant following, and this is a key indication of how well the Instagram integration works in Meta’s new Threads app.
