Here’s What’s New in the Android 14-Powered Update for Nothing Phone 1 with Nothing OS 2.5
If you own a Nothing Phone 1, there’s good news for you as the brand has announced that the stable version of Nothing OS 2.5.2 based on Android 14 is now rolling out for the Phone 1.
Nothing Phone 2 was updated to the same a long time ago, and now the same has arrived in Phone 1 as well. The update brings a bunch of changes and quality-of-life upgrades to the current version, and even new features that let you customize your device with new gestures and more.
Nothing says this is a phased rollout, meaning “not all users will get the update at the same time”.
Based on the changelog of Nothing OS 2.5.2 to be released for Phone 1, the brand has made the following changes:
Now you get an all-encompassing home screen and lock screen customization page. In addition, you now get a new “Atmosphere wallpaper effect” that allows for interesting looking transitions. You also get the option to choose monochrome wallpapers and a new monochrome theme.
In addition, users can now get direct access to the music visualization feature of the Glyph interface, and Nothing also promises an overall improvement in light playback when synced with the device’s audio.
In gestures, Nothing says that you can customize the double-press power button to quickly access. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Gestures. In addition, you also get a new three-finger gesture to quickly take a screenshot, and even a new screenshot editor with more powerful settings.
More major updates
In addition to the aforementioned updates, Nothing OS 2.5.2 also brings a new updated weather app, the ability to set the ringtone and notification sound separately, a better and more stable camera, better battery life, and a new combination of widgets. You now also get pedometer, media player and screen time widgets.
