PlayStation to Receive Popular Mobile Game ‘What the Golf’
What the Golf, an unusual sports simulation game, is confirmed to be launching on PS4 and PS5 consoles in the upcoming months. The release will encompass all the latest updates and has been specifically tailored for Sony consoles. Notably, it will feature DualSense support, utilizing haptic technology to provide a realistic sensation when hitting a ball, a cat, or even an entire planet towards a hole. This game is known for its peculiar and humorous nature.
What Golf takes basic concepts from golf sims and completely transforms them. Along with the golf, there are tons of ridiculous mini-games, and the rules change on a dime, leading to fun multiplayer games. Some levels take you into space, while others turn a golf ball into an office chair, among many other items. The absurdity on display has made the game a hit even among those who are not interested in golf.
The game was originally released on Apple Arcade, but was eventually ported to Nintendo Switch. To that end, the Switch version will receive a powerful update tomorrow, August 3, featuring a crossover with the murder/snitch simulator Among Us. The update includes a new overworld and 35 new levels. These levels were released on Apple Arcade back in April, but this is the first time they’ve been available on a standalone game console. The PC version has also received some love from Us.
Developer Triband has also announced seasonal updates that will drop over the next year. These include new stages and other surprises to coincide with holidays like Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day. All versions of the game have access to these free updates, including Switch, PC, PS4 and PS5. It all starts with the Halloween-themed Beware of the Bogeyman, available from October 23rd to November 5th.
