Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani Announces Plans to Construct Digital Statue of Unity at IMC 2023

At the India Mobile Congress 2023, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani announced the launch of India’s first satellite-based GigaFiber service called Jio SpaceFiber. With Jio SpaceFiber, Reliance Jio aims to provide affordable gigabit broadband internet service to India’s inaccessible countries.

At IMC 2023, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani also shared Jio’s vision after expanding 5G to almost all major parts of the country. “I promise you that with the power of technology we will build a statue of DIGITAL SOCIETY. This is also the highest in aspirations and achievements,” he said.

“If anyone wants to see how a developed India is being built, all he has to do is come to the India Mobile Congress,” he added.

He also mentioned that India’s rapid growth in telecom is due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous development. “Every nation needs a vision that inspires it to do great things. You (PM Modi) have given my generation the aspiration to transform our country into a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India), he said.

Just like young people, you embrace innovation, welcome change and challenge the status quo.

You are constantly working for the latest technology that can improve people’s lives. The best example of this is India’s digital public infrastructure, which has received international praise.

Millions of young people like me are inspired by your work to make Digital India a means to build a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable world. Last year you challenged us to make India a world leader in 5G technology. Your challenge energized us and our achievement has stunned the world.

At Jio, we unleashed the fastest deployment of 5G technology seen anywhere in the world. By deploying a 5G cell every 10 seconds, Jio has installed over 10,000,000 5G cells across all 22 circles in India.

I am humbled to share that Jio alone has brought 85% of the country’s total capacity… and provided one of the fastest 5G internet speeds in the world. Additionally, Jio’s 5G deployment is based on a 100% in-house 5G stack designed, developed and manufactured entirely by Indian talent.
