Report: This Antivirus Is Causing Windows PCs to Crash on Startup
Windows PCs get bogged down on startup, and most of the blame is placed on the antivirus. We often hear that antivirus messes up the performance of computers, but a complete shutdown is an unheard of phenomenon that many have complained about this week.
And it seems that the problem is related to one software called Avira security. According to reports on the forums, people noticed that after updating Avira, their computers started freezing on startup. Most people try to avoid using antivirus software on computers these days, but if you’ve managed to get one on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, chances are your system is also facing freezing issues.
The problem became even more obvious when they realized that the only way to stop this problem from affecting their computer is to remove the antivirus software in question. The interesting thing about this is that many people found their computers CPU and memory to be 100% used even when the system was frozen.
People have noticed that within 10-15 seconds after booting the computer becomes unusable and they can’t even perform simple tasks like right-clicking to refresh the desktop or renaming files etc. Most of the users have shared their frustration and talked about not would ever use the application on their system.
The company behind the antivirus software has said it is aware of these PC freezing complaints since the latest update, but unfortunately has not said if a fix will be offered anytime soon. However, we hope that the company will provide a fix and probably canceling the update and downgrading the computers anti-virus software might be the best course of action.
