Send High-Resolution Photos Through WhatsApp With Your Contacts

WhatsApp users can now start sending high quality images to their contacts. On Thursday, Meta officially announced an update that allows you to click on images and send them in their original quality with friends or family. Mark Zuckerberg shared this post to show everyone how the HD photo quality feature works on WhatsApp. The messaging app is rolling out the feature to users over the next week, which means you’ll get it in stages.

You can also manually check for WhatsApp updates on your phone to see if the new feature is working on your account.

WhatsApp Send high quality picture to friends: How it works

WhatsApp is already rolling out the feature to some users and we got to experience the tool and how it works on the messaging app.

– Open WhatsApp chats to any contact

– Now click on the camera icon next to the message box

– Click image via custom WhatsApp

– Now you will see the HD icon at the top of the screen

– Click the icon that opens the dialog at the bottom

– You can choose between original or HD quality to send the image

– Now send the picture to the contact via WhatsApp

The messaging app makes it clear that sending images in original quality uses less storage space on your phone and is also sent faster to the person. WhatsApp also states that standard quality is the default option for sending images.

But what if you’re on a low network and want to send a high-resolution photo? WhatsApp says: “If you receive a photo when the connection is low, you can choose on a per-photo basis whether you want to keep the standard version or upgrade it to HD quality.” WhatsApp has more good news as it confirms that the HD video transfer option will also be rolled out soon.
