Shredder’s Revenge DLC Now Available for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which became an unexpected success upon its release last summer, has revitalized the classic 2D beat-em-up genre. To further engage players, a new paid DLC called the Dimension Shellshock update has been launched today. This update introduces fresh characters and an additional game mode, aiming to entice players back into the thrilling world of the sewers.
The DLC was announced earlier this summer, but the announcement didn’t include a release date, so today’s release is a nice surprise. Dimension Shellshock lets you play the entire game as two new players. There’s cartoon samurai Miyamoto Usagi from Usagi Yojimbo, the Turtles’ casual friend and former FootClan soldier Karai. Both characters have unique movesets and power-ups.
As for the Turtles and their cohorts, the DLC introduces palette swaps to keep things fresh. You don’t even need to buy Dimension Shellshock for this feature, as there is a free update with just the new colors.
There’s also a brand new survival mode. This isn’t just a remake that locks your character into an arena with enemies. Instead, it contains several native levels called dimensions. There’s a bit of a roguelite element here, as the more you play, the more crystals you collect. These crystals can be used to buy power-ups, extra hit points, and more.
Dimension Shellshock costs $8 and requires a copy of the original game. It is currently available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
