Spotify Introduces ‘Your Offline Mix’ Feature, Allowing Users To Download Playlists For Offline Listening

Spotify, the music streaming platform, is currently experimenting with a feature called ‘Your Offline Mix’. This playlist is tailored for users who wish to listen to their preferred playlist even when they are not connected to the internet.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced in a tweet that the company has tested “Your Offline Mix”. But he didn’t go into more details.

It’s unclear when specifically the company plans to release the feature.

“We’ve been testing a new feature called ‘Offline Mix’ – a playlist designed for those times when you might not be online. What do you think?” Ek tweeted on Thursday.

According to the screenshot sent by Eki, these playlists can store music for several hours of listening time. This can be useful in situations where users are about to board a flight but have forgotten to download music.

Several users expressed their thoughts on this development.

“This is very useful when we’re on a trip in the middle of nowhere and forgot to download our playlist,” commented the user.

“Finally!! let us filter if its offline music or offline podcasts please!!,” another user said.

Meanwhile, Spotify has started rolling out an AI feature called “DJ” for premium customers in the UK and Ireland.

This feature was first made available to premium subscribers in the US and Canada in February.

The feature is still in beta, and it works with OpenAI’s technology.
