Teens: Get Ready to Take Your Projects and Math Skills to the Next Level with Google!
Google Bard has been publicly available until now, but apparently the Chatbot, which runs on the Google Palm 2 LLM, was not available to teenagers. However, as of today, the popular ChatGPT competitor is available to teenagers as long as they meet the minimum age limit for a Google account in their country.
Google says Bard is a useful and informative tool for teenagers. They can find inspiration, hobbies and even get help with writing, finding universities for further studies and learning new sports.
Google is also not afraid of the fact that teenagers can use the tool for their school projects and understand the concepts deeply.
Now Google is even helping them learn math. “To increase interactive learning, we’re bringing the math learning experience to Bard,” Google said. “Anyone, including teenagers, can simply type in or upload a picture of a math equation, and Bard doesn’t just provide the answer — it shares step-by-step explanations of how to solve it,” it added.
In addition, teenagers benefit from another feature, which is the ability to visualize data, which helps them create graphs from tables or information contained in a prompt.
Google states that these features will be available in English, and for teenagers, new features would be added to improve learning.
A “safer” experience for teenagers
Google says it has added several safeguards for teenagers. First, Bard is trained to identify areas that are not suitable for younger users. These guardrails prevent them from accessing unsafe content, such as illegal or out-of-date material, which is part of Bard’s responses. And when a teenager asks Google Bard a fact-based question, it uses a double-check feature to search the web for information that supports Bard’s answer.
In addition, Google has also developed an “onboarding experience” for teenagers at Bard, which includes tips on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence.
