Unfollowing Channels On WhatsApp? Here’s Your Step-By-Step Guide!
Meta’s popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has recently added a new feature to its Channels feature that allows users to easily unfollow any channel they no longer want to receive notifications or updates from. WhatsApp Channels is a one-way broadcasting tool that provides a private way to receive updates from people and organizations on WhatsApp.
This new feature is a welcome addition for users who have subscribed to a large number of channels and want to easily control which channels they receive notifications from.
You can unfollow any channel on WhatsApp by following these steps:
– Open WhatsApp and go to the Chat section.
– Now tap on the Updates section, you will be redirected to the Channels section.
– Tap and hold the channel you want to unfollow.
– From the menu that appears, tap Unfollow.
– Tap Unfollow to confirm.
This feature is available in the latest version of the WhatsApp app for both Android and iOS devices. You can also stop following the channel on the channel information page. To do this, open the channel and tap the three dots in the upper right corner. Then tap Unfollow.
Once a user has stopped following a channel, they will no longer receive notifications or updates from that channel in the Channels section of the app.
In related news, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will allow users to see how many times a channel has been viewed. This feature is not limited to channel owners, as Followers can also see how many times a channel update has been viewed.
According to the report, impressions of a particular channel update will appear in a message bubble in a future update of the app.
This feature helps the channel owner not only determine how many users viewed the update, but also make informed estimates of the number of people who have notifications enabled on their channel and are seeing their content.
