Unlock the Secrets of Chatting: WhatsApp’s New Code Feature
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has introduced a secret code feature for Chat Lock on WhatsApp, increasing the privacy of millions of users to protect sensitive conversations on the platform. Once generated, the code can be used to hide locked conversations so that they only appear when typed into the search bar.
“Spreading a secret code on Chat Lock on WhatsApp so you can protect your chats with a unique password. Now you can make your locked chats visible only when you type the secret code into the search bar so no one can accidentally find your most private conversations,” Zuckerberg said in a blog post.
According to the popular instant messaging app, the secret code allows users to set a unique password different from the one they use to unlock their phone to give their locked conversations extra privacy.
You can hide the Locked Chats folder from your chat list so they can only be found by typing your secret code into the search bar. If that doesn’t suit your needs, you can still choose to have them appear in your chat list.
Whenever you want to lock a new chat, you can lock it by long pressing instead of going to chat settings.
Here’s how to use this feature
– Open WhatsApp on your device
– If you want to hide locked conversations, go to the list of locked conversations.
– Tap the three dots and enable “Hide locked conversations”.
– Now set secret code to access hidden locked chats.
– Hidden locked conversations are not visible in the main conversation window.
– You can see the hidden locked chats temporarily by typing the secret code in the search bar.
After that, locked chats won’t appear in the main chat window, offering more privacy than the current WhatsApp design, which shows a shortcut for locked chats when swiping down on the chat screen.
