As 2023 draws to a close, Google Play, the Android app store developed by Google, has announced its list of India’s best Android apps and games of the year. The list contains the most popular apps and games from different categories, chosen by both users and the Google Play editorial team.
“In 2023, we again saw many new and exciting apps that help people with a variety of critical needs. Apps for self-care, personal growth, and e-commerce will dominate this year’s app innovation,” Google said. blog post.
The app of the year award goes to Level SuperMind, an app dedicated to improving mindfulness. It achieves this by offering personalized AI-guided paths that include a combination of meditation, exercises, journaling and bedtime stories.
The title of Users’ Choice app of the year in India went to Therapy app “THAP: Your Happiness Gym”. This app is designed to support mental well-being by addressing issues such as depression, anxiety and stress. It provides convenient access to resources and connects users with licensed therapists.
In the best application with artificial intelligence category, Stimuler and SwiftChat emerged as the winners. Stimuler focuses on improving English speaking skills through AI-based voice technology, while SwiftChat uses conversational AI chatbots to deliver customized learning content in multiple Indian languages, serving both students and teachers.
Moving into the games category, the prestigious Game of the Year award was secured by “Monopoly Go”. Google notes that this game successfully capitalized on India’s love for multiplayer games, introducing new and exciting boards, characters and events throughout the year.
Subway Surfers Blast received the Users’ Choice Game award, which shows the affection Indian gamers have for the adventures of the Subway Surfers crew. Mighty Doom, awarded in the Best Pick Up & Play category, revitalized the iconic Doom franchise by bringing its demon slaying right into the hands of gamers.
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) garnered attention in the gaming community and earned recognition in the Best Continuous Game category. This was due to constant updates to the game, including the introduction of an all-new NUSA map and the integration of Dragon Super Ball characters.
