Xiaomi 13T With Leica-Branded Cameras to Debut This Month
The Xiaomi 13 series will get a T update this month as the company announces its launch event in Berlin on September 26. The company made quite an impression with the Xiaomi 13 series, especially its Leica camera technology in the Xiaomi 13 Pro, but now it seems that the brand is going to offer Leica goodies in the Xiaomi 13T range, which will likely include the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro.
Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, teased the details of the event with an X post confirming the release date and time. The event will also be broadcast live on Mi.com.
The invite clearly says that the Xiaomi 13T will be designed in collaboration with Leica, which means that Xiaomi and Leica can develop camera sensors together. The teaser does not say the name of the devices, but calling it a series tells us that the Xiaomi 13T has a T Pro model.
Xiaomi 13T to be released this month: what to expect
The Xiaomi 13T should use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, unless the brand decides to go with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series. The phone should get up to 12GB of RAM or up to 16GB. But all interest is on the Leica cameras and whether Xiaomi will bring it to both variants this time.
The phone is expected to have smooth edges and a giant camera module at the back. Although Android 14 is just around the corner, the Xiaomi 13T series is likely to run MIUI 14 based on Android 13, which should be lighter than the OS seen on lower-end Xiaomi phones. The teaser also suggests that Xiaomi will focus on the imaging and design of the new flagship line.
The Xiaomi 13T will launch globally, so it’s possible we’ll find out if the company plans to bring the phones to markets like India later this year.
