Xiaomi 14 Pro To Be Unveiled With HyperOS and Snapdragon Gen 3 Processor Today
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi will launch its latest flagship smartphones – Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro in its home country on October 26 (today). The successor to the popular Xiaomi 13 series is equipped with the new HyperOS and the latest camera system designed in collaboration with Leica.
The Xiaomi 14 series also has Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset confirmed. This premium mobile processor was unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit this week. The Xiaomi 14 series will be released on the 26th. October (today). The launch event starts at 19:00 (16:30 IST) in China. Interested viewers can watch the live streaming of the event on Xiaomi’s Weibo handle and the company’s China website.
Xiaomi’s latest smartphone is the first phone to run the new HyperOS operating system. The new interface is gradually replacing MIUI.
According to renders by 91mobiles and OnLeaks, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will have a flat screen, which differs from the curved panel of the current Xiaomi 13 Pro. The smartphone is also expected to be thicker.
But the most noticeable change is the camera module, which looks significantly larger and more substantial compared to current models, possibly hinting at larger sensors.
The publication also mentions the phone’s dimensions at 161.6 x 75.3 x 8.7 mm, and it may feature a 6.6-inch flat screen with curved 2.5D glass and a punch-hole for the front camera. Another significant change could be the presence of four cameras and other sensors.
Leaks have also suggested that the Xiaomi 14 will sport a 6.44-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Pro model could have a 6.6-inch flat AMOLED 2.5D screen and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Both models work on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The Xiaomi 14 is expected to pack a 4,600mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro packs a 4,860mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
