5 Signs You May Have Been Blocked on WhatsApp by Someone
WhatsApp is certainly an important part of many of our digital lives and helps us connect with loved ones, colleagues and others. Although this rarely happens, things can turn sour and someone can block you – for a myriad of reasons. If you want to know if that person has blocked you or if it’s something else, there’s no surefire way to tell if they have.
Nevertheless, there are a few signs that can help you identify if you have been blocked on WhatsApp. Here are the following terms:
- Missing “Last Seen” and “Online” Status: Not seeing these could mean you’ve been blocked. However, in today’s privacy-conscious environment, many people prefer to keep this information private. Therefore, you cannot be sure based on this factor alone.
- No WhatsApp Profile Picture Updates: No profile picture updates may also indicate that someone has blocked you.
- Missing Delivery Receipts (Single Tick): If your messages show only one tick after sending it, it can be a significant sign of blocking. Messages will not be delivered if you are blocked.
- Failed video and voice calls: If your attempts to call someone on WhatsApp repeatedly fail, this is another strong sign of blocking. WhatsApp prevents blocked contacts from calling the person who blocked them.
- Calls outside of WhatsApp also won’t connect: You can try calling a person from outside the app using your phone dialer, and if it doesn’t connect, it could be a sign that they’ve blocked you outside of WhatsApp as well.
While these indicators may indicate you’ve been blocked, they’re not foolproof. After all, someone might have disabled “last seen” mode or be in a low network zone temporarily not using a profile picture. It’s important to note that if you notice a combination of these statuses persisting for a long time – even after multiple attempts to reach the person – it’s possible that you’ve been blocked.
