Concerned about sharing personal photos? Discover how WhatsApp’s new ‘View Once’ feature can provide assistance.
It is safe to say that WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps for people, especially in India. It is used for everything from personal one-on-one communication to newsrooms. And millions of media files are shared on it every day.
Meanwhile, Meta updates the app to add new features and functional updates. One of the most requested features was the ability to send “View Once” media, and it finally debuted on WhatsApp a while back. This allows you to send a picture or video and even voice notes, but the receiver can only play it once.
Additionally, if the recipient does not open View Once media within 14 days of sending, it will be deleted. Keep in mind that any media files you send in Show Once mode won’t be saved to the other party’s gallery, and they won’t be able to take screenshots of them either.
This can be useful for people who are concerned about privacy or who need to send security-related codes or documents such as credit card images. Here we explain how this feature works and how you can use it yourself.
How to use WhatsApp to send watch media files:
– Open WhatsApp and open the conversation where you want to send the file Show once.
– Now just select the photo or video you want to send.
– After completing the above steps, WhatsApp will take you to a screen where you can add captions and edit the file. Here you need to find the “1” in the lower right corner.
– Tap on it and the file will now be set to Show Once.
– Once sent, the recipient will only see it once, and as soon as they’ve done it, you’ll see if they’ve opened the file.
