MetaAI

Meta AI is now accessible in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and other languages.

In September 2023, Meta AI was introduced with the Llama 2 learning language model. Almost a year later, Meta has revealed a new set of capabilities for its AI assistant, along with a new LLM called Llama 3.1.

These updates include an expansion of who can use Meta AI. With the addition of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Cameroon, Assistant is now available in 22 countries. It is also available in new languages: French, German, Hindi, Romanized Hindi, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. However, some of the new features are location- or language-specific for the time being.

Meta is rolling out a beta tool called “Imagine me” across the US. It enables prompts like “Imagine me surfing” or “Imagine me as a surreal painting” and is created by an AI assistant using a photo of the individual. Meta also adds new ways to manipulate an image, such as deleting, changing or editing its content. This feature allows you to create an image such as a duck using the “Imagine me” tool and then instruct Meta AI to “Change the duck to a cat”. Next month there will also be an “Edit with AI” button for fine-tuning images. The company is also introducing the ability to create an image with Meta AI in a feed, comment, story or message on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. It should be released this week, but for now only in English.

Then there is the release of Llama 3.1 405B – Meta’s new open source AI model. You can use it on WhatsApp or meta.ai for tasks like answering math problems and coding. Meta claims to update its AI technology every two weeks and that new features and languages are on the way.
