AI Could Soon Handle Your WhatsApp Support Queries
WhatsApp, the popular chat app owned by Meta, continues to get new features that keep the experience fresh and powerful. Over the past year, the app has undergone a revolutionary experience, introducing features such as channels, login passwords, and the ability to lock chats with a secret code. Meta is reportedly working on another useful feature – an AI-assisted customer survey solution.
According to WABetaInfo, known for its WhatsApp-centric coverage, the app may soon offer AI-generated answers to user queries posted in its support section. This feature is currently under development for Android and is expected to be available for iOS as well, as seen in TestFlight’s WhatsApp beta iOS 24.3.10.70.
The report mentions that “some WhatsApp support messages may be generated by AI using Meta’s secure technology,” which ensures that users can get help and receive important information even when human support is not available.
If a user’s query remains unresolved with AI assistance, they can still contact a real consumer representative by replying to an AI-generated message stating the need for further assistance, as noted by WABetaInfo. This could be ideal for scenarios where no human intervention is required and could help both the user and WhatsApp in the long run.
The purpose of this feature is to help users resolve issues outside of office hours and reduce wait times. However, the release date of this technology is unclear as it is not yet part of the beta version.
