Elon Musk Predicts Twitter Will Reach Highest Ever User-Screentime This Week

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, stated on Tuesday that the total amount of time users spend on their phone screens per day could potentially reach an unprecedented high this week.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino tweeted: “Not to leave you guys hanging by a thread… but Twitter, you really outdid yourself! Last week we had our biggest usage day since February. There is only ONE Twitter. You know it. I know it.”

Musk responded to this: “The number of cumulative user seconds per day of phone time reported by iOS and Android is the hardest to game. I think we can hit an all-time high this week.”

Musk later posted, “Looking at the picture in picture video while scrolling this platform is great.”

“You get more laughs out of this app than out of everything else combined,” he said Monday.

Matthew Prince, CEO of IT services management company Cloudflare, tweeted a chart on Sunday showing Twitter’s Domain Name System (DNS) ranking declining from January to today.

Last week, when Meta launched its Twitter competitor “Threads”, Yaccarino said that “we are often imitated – but the Twitter community can never be copied”.

Meta launched Threads on July 5th for iOS and Android users in 100 countries and is currently one of the most popular free apps on the App Store.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Monday that Threads has reached 100 million registered users: “Threads hit 100 million signups over the weekend. It’s mostly organic demand and we haven’t even launched many campaigns yet. Can’t believe it’s only been 5 days! “
