G20 Leaders Unite to Create a Comprehensive Vision for Digital Infrastructure of the Future
According to the tech industry, the G20 declaration encompasses a future vision that embraces technology, responsible artificial intelligence, and digital public infrastructure.
The declaration agreed by leaders attending the New Delhi summit emphasized international cooperation and further discussions on international governance for a safe, secure, trusted, accountable and inclusive digital public infrastructure (DPI).
Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “making the impossible possible” and G20 sherpa Amitabh Kant’s “relentless persuasion” to get the declaration through.
Ashish Saraf, vice-chairman and country director for India at French digital innovation company Thales, praised the G20 New Delhi leaders’ declaration, saying it presents “a comprehensive vision of a future enhanced by technology and highlights the critical role of responsible artificial intelligence and digital public infrastructure.”
Amit Jaju, Senior Managing Director, Ankura Consulting Group (India) said the emphasis on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Global Digital Public Infrastructure Repository (GDPIR) demonstrates India’s commitment to bridging the digital divide.
